Kahan aa ke rukne the raste kahan mod tha usay bhool ja
wo jo mil gaya usay yaad rakh’ jo nahin mila usay bhool ja

wo tere naseeb ki barishen kisi aur chat pe baras gayeen
dil e bekhabar meri baat sun usay bhool ja usay bhool ja

main to gum tha tere dhyaan main teri aas tere gumaan main
sab keh gayi mere kaan main mere saat aa usay bhool ja

kyun ataa hua he ghubaar main ghum e zindagi k fishaar main
wo jo darj tha tere bakht main’ so wo ho gya usay bhool ja

jo basaat e jaan hi ulat gya wo jo raaste se palat gaya
usay rokne se hasool kya usay matt bula usay bhool ja

tujhe chand bann k mila tha jo tere sahilon pe khila tha jo
wo tha darya wisaal ka so utar gaya usay bhool ja.

Hum to sirf dua go log, Khak-o-mehr ka kya sanjog, Pas rahain ya door rahain, Mehfil to abad ha na, Aaj tumhari “Salgira” ha, Dekho Hum ko yad ha na. “SALGIRAH MUBARAK”
